Malik Heights Inferno: Police Pursue Suspected Arsonist Caught on CCTV Starting Fire

Police officers have launched hunt for a man suspected to be the arsonist behind Nairobi's Malik Heights inferno that left a trail of destruction.
The suspect identified as Abdirzak Yusuf Adow was reportedly captured on CCTV entering the nine-storey business complex with a jerrycan believed to be carrying fuel.
Adow was also seen igniting the fire before exiting the building located along Ngong Road.
Reports indicate that the suspect was a former broker for Alhusnain Motors Limited.
Alhusnain, which occupies the business center's ground floor where the fire started, lost 78 luxury vehicles worth more than Sh600 million.
The structure opened in 2017 is home to motor vehicle bazaars, offices, and restaurants among other businesses.
Eyewitnesses said the building went up in flames at around 8 pm on Monday, moments after pockets of explosions were heard.
“We are looking for the man who we believe is a man of interest in the investigations,” Nairobi Police Commander Philip Ndolo said.
