MP Moses Kuria Names His Potential Running Mates as He Declares His 2022 Presidential Bid

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria says he will be on the presidential ballot in the 2022 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Hot 96 breakfast show on Monday, Kuria has exuded confidence that he will trounce other candidates including Deputy President William Ruto.

Kuria says he will offer Ruto a place in his government should he win the presidential contest.

“I will vie for the presidency in 2022. I will be on the ballot. I can never go back to village jobs, I’m vying for the presidency in 2022,” he says.

The vocal Jubilee MP says he is considering picking Opposition leader Raila Odinga or Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana as his possible running mates.

His sentiments come a week after he announced plans to ditch Jubilee party for Democratic Party (DP).

Kuria says DP will be the most popular party in the Mt. Kenya region come 2022.

Billionaire businessman Jimmi Wanjigi, nominated MP Maina Kamanda, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and former Murang'a Senator Kembi Gitura are some of the other leaders who have expressed interest in joining DP, the Daily Nation reports.

In an interview in October 2018, Kuria said his decision to run for the presidency is informed by his desire to solve problems facing Kenya including tribalism and corruption.

“First of all, I have never talked badly about religion or tribe but the problem with the people I speak against, is that they describe me as a tribalist, thief, corrupt,” he said.

“I think their symbol needs to be a brush. When you join them, they paint you white when you leave them they paint you black. I am not a tribalist.”

You have to forgive these idiots. Looks like politics brings out the worst out of people. Expect more ujinga from them between now and 2022. But why and how does Kuria believe he can be elected president?
