Top Jubilee, ODM Politicians Allied to President Uhuru, Raila Wanted by FBI over Links to Akashas Drug Trafficking Web

Top politicians drawn from President Kenyatta's Jubilee party and Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are among prominent Kenyans who are on United States authorities' radar over links to Akashas drug trafficking syndicate.

The Star reports that among those in the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) list include an ODM Governor and his brother.

The two are allegedly extensively mentioned by two Akasha brothers; Baktash and Ibrahim, who recently pleaded guilty to six counts of drug trafficking and bribery before a New York court.

“They are wanted by FBI over their links with the Akashas. The two Akasha brothers have extensively named them in their statements,” a source privy to the information is quoted by the Star.

Others in the FBI list are two Jubilee party Governors, a Member of Parliament, a former Governor, a current and former senior police head.

Last month, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji confirmed that American authorities have shared with him documents on top ranking individuals linked to the Akashas drug web.

“We have had interactions with them, there have been questions and there are areas where we need to cooperate. Once we agree on how to proceed, then formal extradition requests will be made by the US,” the DPP told the Daily Nation.

Some of those named in the list are reported to be close allies of President Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The two Akasha brothers have signed a plea bargaining agreement with US prosecutors and are set to be sentenced in February.

Beacuse the author of this article has no balls or is just merely speculating without any evidence. The allegations made here are way too stretched and broad! Ain't gonna help us narrow it down!

In other words: Joho and his brother, Sonko and Kabogo. Who are the others? Those who don't care for their country will sell it to the highest bidder even when it means destroying many young lives in criminal drug activities. Those adversely mentioned by Akasha hooligans and are in public office should be thrown out pronto. Corruption, drug dealing, judiciary and those in leadership seem to thrive in an impeccable mutuality.

Truth be told, this is what made uhunye and rao craft some handshake. The handshake is meant to protect those close to the two tribal kingpins, they funded their campaigns. The two are better off fighting the Americans from a united front. The handcheque has nothing to do with the ordinary mwananchi

@MkenyaHalisi is that you really? I sense some support for the Americans. That Americans can come get them, really? You hold in high regard the US Justice system, that you have given up on the Kenyan justice? The judges? Am I reading right?

Timing is everything. When NY prosecutors descend on the bad boys in Kenya, DPP will need to concurrently pounce on the little bad boys for maximum impact in draining the swamp. Once on the radar bad boys can run (even run for office)but can't hide (even behind political patronage)

Bad boys bad boys what you gonna do when they come for you...
