Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a man suspected to be behind a series of house robberies in Nairobi.
The DCI says the suspect, identified as Leonard Munyaka Wambua alias Leon-a was arrested in Lang'ata estate on Saturday evening.
He is accused of masterminding numerous housebreaking and burglaries in Nairobi and Mombasa and mainly targets electronic gadgets, jewelry and mobile phones.
"Leonard Munyaka Wambua alias Leon-a notorious house breaker and burglar was arrested today in Langata. The suspect has been involved in numerous house breaking and burglaries in Nairobi and Mombasa. He targets Electronics, Jewelry and Mobile Phones when Stealing," the DCI says in a tweet.
The DCI says Wambua is the leader of a gang that comprises of two men and two women and is out on bail for other similar crimes.
"The suspect, who is always in company of associates(2men &2women)was out on bail for such other crimes pending before Kibera Law Court."
"His warrant of arrest was already in force after he breached his bail conditions. He will be arraigned in court on Monday & charged accordingly," the DCI notes.
