Court Directs Citizen TV News Anchor Jacque Maribe be Detained for 10 Days in Monica Kimani's Murder Case

Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe was on Monday morning arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Principal Magistrate Justus Kituku allowed police to detain the journalist for 10 more days to allow detectives complete investigations into the killing of Ms Kimani.
The court directed the suspect be held at the Gigiri Police Station, where she spent the weekend following her arrest on Saturday.
“I am convinced that compelling reasons do exist to warrant detention in custody. In the interest of justice I have granted the prosecution 10 days to detain the suspect at Gigiri police station,” directed the judge.
The prosecution had sought to detain the TV anchor for 14 days arguing that investigators needed more time to collect DNA samples from her as well as statements from Maribe’s friends and colleagues.
Magistrate Kituku further directed that Maribe be granted access to her lawyers and should only be interrogated in their presence. This was after her attorney Katwa Kigen told the court that police had “blackmailed, intimidated and cajoled,” her into recording statements.
Monica was murdered at her apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate and her body dumped in a bathtub with the throat slit.
Jacque's fiancée, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie—a prime suspect in the murder, was apprehended last week and charged. The court allowed police to hold him for 10 days pending conclusion of investigations.
Monica was killed hours after returning to the country from South Sudan, where she reportedly run a family business. Her brother said Monica had planned to fly to Dubai the next day to meet her South Sudanese boyfriend and proceed for vacation.
The 29-year-old woman was laid to rest at her parents home in Gilgil, Nakuru county on Friday.

The man Jowie Irungu is the main suspect but clueless people here commenting against women... Women... Women... Women.
Kwani mumerogwa. And by the way, Maribe's main folly is her desperation. Something VERY common among even Kenyan women in the diaspora. You would rather date a "gun-for-hire", thief, con-man, good-for-nothing drunk with no place to live than being patient and work towards a relationship with a stable man. Kenyan women like to babysit or mother men, wakipata pesa kidogo, they want to call the shots. That need to control a man ndio inaleta hii taabu yote to begin with. Maribe kwani ni pilot ama daktari ama professor alikosa ndio asettle for a homeless gun for hire cum bouncer na unasikia huyu ni mwanaume amelala lala na wanawake prominent Kenya. Some of the women here wako na hayo maisha pia. Financing the lives of men in Kenya na mko na mabwana. You just want to control your life and control the men in your life. Women nowadays make it and can even settle for less just as long as they call the shots. So before you start heaping all the blame on slay queens etc. Angalia pia maisha yako wewe mwanamke wa diaspora or wewe mwanamke umeweka ka- good-for-nothing burger outtchea. But don't get me wrong... I also DO NOT support any of Maribe's actions. Kazi ya kupanulia wakubwa wa nchi miguu for mileage in life pia iko na 40 days zake. Jacque Maribe deserves exactly what she got!

@Sizza, wawawa hapo umesema kweli
Women have lost their worth. To women, if you want whatever is between the legs go buy one sometimes they are on sale too just like a good shoe. Leave someone else's husband alone, leave lazy suckers/parasites good for nothings alone, leave criminals alone, leave drunkards/ drug addicts/drug peddlers alone and lastly know your self worth before you embark on any man hunting expedition.

Lived long enough to be confident enough to state these facts. Kenyan women are aiming too low. They are settling for less. It's very easy to note in a very short time if a man is good for a woman- women have that gift. But women's downfall is FALSE HOPE. Hopes that- ,"Ati this guy is jobless but atapata tu job. Ama, i will help him find a job or set up a business. Ama, I make enough money for both of us. Wacha akae tu nyumbani, asiwe na stress so that he can concentrate on me." Woman! Are you mad! Do you know how a man's mind operates and all the things that cross his mind on a minute by minute basis. WE!!! UTASHANGAA!!! UTAJUA HAUJUI!!!!
There is a good reason why God said that man MUST work. If he can't sweat it out enough for you and the family, just know you ain't worth him. He ain't worth you either.
Back to "Njowie" na maribe. Maribe bent backwards too far for this guy to the point of forgetting herself and helping him cover-up his story and many other things that will probably be revealed after the completion of the investigation. And let nobody dare tell me that this was due to love. They knew each other way back when crisscrossing the country campaigning for Jubilee. Love ain't got nothing to do with this. Besides, Maribe has put herself in more shit trying to create a motive for wanting Monica dead. The prosecution could as well say that she finally got a guy she could control, she wanted to eliminate the competition and on top of that steal her (Monica's) money to start a security company for her husband or finance a lavish wedding since "Njowie" had just proposed.
Kenyan women, please please please AIM HIGHER. I BESEECH YOU!
