Raila Promises to Give Jobs to Uhuru, Ruto if he Defeats them in August Polls

The National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has said that he will offer jobs to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto if he defeats them in the August 8 polls.

Speaking while addressing the media in Kibra on Thursday, the former Prime Minister said that he did not have any personal problems with the Jubilee duo, adding that he would work with them.

“We do not have a problem with President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto. After we remove them from office, we will give them work to do and we will not jail them but show them how a government is run because it seems they are overwhelmed,” Odinga stated.

He accused the Jubilee administration of failing to offer tangible solutions to problems facing Kenyans, dismissing the recent move by the government to subsidize maize flour as only a short term solution the cannot fully tame the food shortage.

“They are cheating people that they have brought maize from Mexico but this is just a temporary thing of one or two months because they are using it to seek for votes,” he stated.

He added, “They have been in power for four years but they never did anything. Even if you give them 100 years, there is nothing they would accomplish.”

He further dismissed the recent claim by Deputy President William Ruto that the Jubilee Party will clinch majority elective seats in Nairobi, adding that Ruto did not know anything about the city politics. “Ruto is coming from Sugoi and knows nothing about Nairobi politics. Jogoo la shamba haiwezi wika mjini,” he said.

Raila was addressing supporters at the Old Kibera Primary School where he had gone to verify his electronic voter registration status.
