Waiguru Tells Karua, Ndathi that Kirinyaga is a Jubilee Zone, Asks them To Abandon Quest for Governor

Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru has expressed optimism that she will emerge victorious in the race for the Kirinyaga governor seat come August 8.

Waiguru faces NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua and incumbent governor Joseph Ndathi who is contesting as an independent candidate, in the August 8th general elections.

Waiguru, who was speaking after she was handed the Jubilee Party nomination certificate at Sifa garden in Kutus town on Saturday, said she was ready to transform lives of Kirinyaga residents when elected.

"Kirinyaga is a Jubilee Zone and those competing with us in those other small parties will be defeated," Waiguru said.

She added, "I ask my competitors to support President Uhuru Kenyatta but wait for 2022 to contest for the governor position."

She promised that she will unite the people of Kirinyaga residents promising to deliver the governor seat to the Jubilee Party.

20 Members of County Assembly and three parliamentary nominees - George Kariuki (Ndia), John Wambugu (Kirinyaga Central) and Robert Gichimu (Gichugu) were issued the Jubilee party ticket.
