Two Kenyans who went into hiding after allegedly stealing $64,000 (Sh6.5 million) five years ago were on Friday arrested by detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The two former employees of G4S Security Company are said to have escaped with the cash after they were tasked with reloading an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on December 26th, 2014, according to DCI.
The two; John Wahome and Kefa Kimotho were apprehended by sleuths in Kiambu’s Kahuho and Juja areas.
“John Wahome and Lawrence Kefa Kimotho wanted for the offence of stealing USD 64,000 that they were assigned to replenish an ATM were arrested by DCI detectives at Kahuho and Juja areas,” DCI said in a statement.
DCI indicated that the two suspects switched off their mobile phones and went into hiding after stealing the money.
The two will be arraigned in court next week even as further investigations continue.
