President Uhuru's Cousin Loses Nomination, As Do Five MPs in Kiambu

President Uhuru’s cousin and current Women Representative for Kiambu County Ann Nyokabi Gathecha lost her re-election bid after losing the Jubilee nomination to a political newcomer, Gathoni Muchomba.

Gathoni is a former presenter at Kameme FM.

Meanwhile, five Members of Parliament (MPs) in Kiambu County lost their Jubilee primary elections hed on Tuesday. Those who lost their bids to reclaim their seats in a Jubilee ticket include Njoroge Baiya (Githunguri), Esther Gathogo (Ruiru),Kigo Njenga (Gatundu North), Mburu Kahangara (Lari), and John Kiragu (Limuru).

Jubilee contests in the other seven constituencies in Kiambu County as well as the Senate seat are yet to be decided.

In the Governor’s race, incumbent William Kabogo got humiliated by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, managing a paltry 69,916 votes against Waititu’s 353,604 votes.
