US President Donald Trump on Wednesday suspended all travel between the United States and Europe for 30 days starting on Friday in a bid to fight the spread of Coronavirus.
Addressing the nation from Oval Office, Trump said US citizens who have been adequately screened as well as United Kingdom (UK) citizens will be exempted from the ban. No reason was given for the exception of the UK, which has 460 reported cases of Coronavirus infections as of Wednesday evening, and a total of 8 deaths.
Italy has the most confirmed cases of Coronavirus at 12,000 and 827 deaths.
China, where the virus was first detected, has a total of 80.754 confirmed cases so far and 3,136 deaths.
In related news, US actor Tom Hanks confirmed that he and his wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for Coronavirus in Australia, where they are currently visiting.
"Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia… We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too,” said Hanks.
"To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks' will be tested observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.
