Kenyan Politician Cosmas Korir Wins Sh208.7 Million SportPesa Mega Jackpot

A former parliamentary aspirant in the August, 2017 general elections has become the latest multi-millionaire in town after he won last week's SportPesa mega jackpot.

Cosmas Korir, who unsuccessfully contested for Konoin parliamentary seat in Bomet county on a Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party ticket, will bag 208,733,619 after correctly predicting 17 football matches.

“We have a mega jackpot winner Sh. 208,733,619,” SportPesa announced on its social media pages on Sunday night.

Sources indicate that Korir currently works for West Pokot County government as Director of Agriculture. This becomes the fourth time the mega jackpot has been won since its launch.

In May 2017, Samuel Abisai became the first SportPesa jackpot winner and walked away with Sh221 million. The following month, three winners equally shared Sh115 million.

On February 7th, 2018 Gordon Ogada, an orphan, correctly predicted all 17 matches to pocket Sh230,742,881.

To win the jackpot, one must correctly predict the outcome 17 football matches. The betting firm also gives consolation prizes otherwise referred to as bonus to gamblers who correctly predict 12, 13,14,15 and 16 matches.

In last week's mega jackpot, those who got 16 correct predictions will walk away with Sh11,628,589 each while 15 correct predictions will each get Sh487,756 followed by 14 (Sh101,004), Sh12,691 (13) and Sh4,249 each for 12 correctly predicted fixtures.
