Uhuru Kenyatta Chairs First Jubilee NEC Meeting After Court Victory

The Jubilee Party is embarking on a strategic revival following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, its first since a leadership dispute threatened to destabilise the organisation.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, whose leadership was recently reaffirmed by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, participated virtually. The NEC session, convened after months of internal conflict between factions led by Sabina Chege and Kanini Kega, marks a crucial juncture for Jubilee.
A gazette notice issued by the Registrar on 1 July effectively resolved the leadership challenge, reinstating Uhuru and paving the way for renewed institutional focus. According to a post-meeting statement, party officials undertook a comprehensive review of existing programmes and outlined strategies to fortify organisational structures nationwide.
Deputy Secretary General Pauline Njoroge characterised the meeting as "crucial," emphasising its importance in solidifying Jubilee's ideological principles and fostering internal cohesion. The timing of Jubilee's renewed activity coincides with shifting alliances among former Azimio coalition members and growing momentum within opposition circles in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
The party's leadership has pledged to intensify grassroots engagement and re-establish its voice in national debates, positioning Jubilee as a resolute opposition force.
