Kenyan Catholic Bishops Want Supreme Court to Overturn Its Ruling on LGBTQ

The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) has appealed to the Supreme Court to rescind its ruling allowing the registration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) lobby groups.

The bishops condemned the ruling, saying it promotes homosexuality, which is against the constitution and moral values of the people of Kenya.

“We fault the determination of the Supreme Court of Kenya and declare it as an effort towards the promotion of the LGBTQ ideology which seeks to destroy life. It is an attack on humanity,” KCCB said in a statement on Friday.

"This ideology is an attempt to undermine the family and cultural values which are rooted in the very nature of humankind. It also undermines the dignity of life which is at the core of our beliefs as a nation,” it added.

The Catholic bishops called upon Kenyans to stand firm against the promotion of same-sex relationships as they seek to destroy family values and Christian dignity.

The clerics rallied institutions and organizations to join the push for a review of the ruling.

“We insist that the Supreme Court of Kenya reviews this ruling, and determine that an association that seeks the promotion of illegal and immoral actions be overturned,” they added.

In a ruling dated February 23rd, the Supreme Court stated that denying LGBTQ persons the right to register as an NGO was discriminatory and against the constitution, which grants every individual the right to freedom of association.

“The Court determined that the use of the word “sex” under Article 27(4) does not connote the act of sex per se but refers to the sexual orientation of any gender, whether heterosexual, lesbian, gay, intersex, or otherwise. The court held that the word “including” under the same Article is not exhaustive, but only illustrative and would also comprise “freedom from discrimination based on a person’s sexual orientation,” the Supreme Court judgement reads in part.

It shocks, and dismays me when heterosexuals are obssessed with sex.WHy do they think that that's the only thing gay people do?Just about all gay people I know are productive members of the society.Whatever they do in their bedroom is not my concern.Nor should it be yours. There is more to women than humping and puffing on top of them.So you heterosexuals who hate gays, just think about it.Sex with your women is not all that pleasing to watch.Just imagine your father banging your mother. Its disgusting right?

3 people cannot decide for 52 million people. This is a weighty issue that needs referendum. Do not pass it through the back door like USA.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clEH70rv7ks&ab_channel=Nation

@ Kenya, the Surpere Court is tasked with interpreting the law basically to tell us that this law is relevant and applicable here and there. It tell us how we should apply the law. The issue here is whether LGBT can register as agroup. What does the law way about it.If you are saying that there should be a referendum to change the law, the question I have is what law?

The man of the cloth should not worry. All he has to do is show the supposedly errant Kenyans the right way.Right?
Folks this problem goes deeper than just mere LGBT fighting for their rights. Why are we acting like this is something new.Homosexuality is not new in Kenya. What is new is Aping the west on how to express it.
Let us examine ourselves and ask ourselves what is wrong with us that we like to APE Mzungu(I use Mzungu here losely to mean the west). We copy even when not necessary. For Example:
1 Mzungu wears his hat backwards we do same
2.Mzungu wears dreadlocks we do same- forgetting Mau Mau
fighter had it before mzungu, and we frowned at him.
3. Mzungu man wear earrings, we do same even though Masai
man preceded Mzungu
4.Mzungu man colors his hair red,and green...ect.
Mwafrica man does the same.Ignoring that masai man did
it before mzungu.
5.Mzungu man says skinny women are sexy.We change our
taste to aneroxic women.
6.Mzungu wears over sized suriali that show his
ass,and makes him walk like monkey to stop it from
falling and we ape him.
7.Mzungu has taught us to hate our names. We prefer
Margette to Wamboi,Onyango to Stanley,WIllian to
Ruto... Do you ever see Mzungu call himself Makokha?
.
The list goes no and on,But you get my drift. The problem is us africans. Hatuna msimamo. It time to decolonize our minds.Start thinking for ourselves,.and stop APING.That's the solution. Please note what I have said has nothing to do with SCIENCE.All humanity contributes to science.

Pilipili usiozila zakuwashia nini?

I am not gay. I suspect that this issue is an attempt to divert people's attention from the many ills facing the ordinary Kenyans on a daily basis. What we need to focus 24/7 is on:

1. Job creation throughput the country.
2. Security for every Kenyan 24/7though the employment of armed police officers in every street
3. Arresting thieves posing as leaders while emptying our national resources.
4.Limiting the size of the family to a maximum of two children.
5. Availability of clean and free public restrooms.
6. Tuition free tuition in all our public schools
7, Cleanliness in all public places including our markets.
8. Trash cans on every street
9. Speed limits required for all public and private vehicles.
10 Mandatory and on-site inspection of all public vehicles for the general safety of all the citizens every six months.
