Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has told Kenyan Muslim women that they must wear a hijab or scarf in public.
Duale, who spoke during the launch of the International Quran Competition at Sir Ali Muslim Club in Parkroad, Nairobi on Tuesday, said it is mandatory for Muslim women to wear hijabs in public and those opposed to the practice should find another country to live in.
"The government will respect Muslim culture. We will make sure our girls wear hijabs. It is a must for any Muslim woman in Kenya to wear a hijab or scarf. If they do not want, then they should look for another country to go to,” Duale said as quoted by Nation.
Duale, a former Member of Parliament for Garissa Township Constituency, argues that hijab is a highly valued dress code among Muslims.
The politician has been vocal about women and girls wearing hijabs or scarves. In 2019, he demanded that the Ministry of Education takes disciplinary action against school heads forcing Muslim girls to remove hijabs.
"I want to warn head teachers that they dare not stop our children from learning because of wearing a hijab. Anyone who does that will find it rough with us who come from the Muslin community," he said.
The former National Assembly Majority Leader said Muslim school girls faced discrimination over their religious dressing and asked the ministry to issue a directive to protect them.
Although a majority of Muslim women in Kenya wear the hijab, some, particularly in urban areas, put on a simple covering over their hair. For many of them, the hijab signifies both modesty and privacy.

Not too long ago,Muslims in Nigerian stoned,and burnt a Christian women for what they termed as Insulting Mohammed.From credible sources,what she said was the she thanked Jesus for her good grades.Apparently that did not sit well with Muslims.Anyway, Let's not allow Kenya to be divided into Islam,and Christian sections.Let Muslims deal with their religious issues in their mosques,and Christians with their problems in their churches.
Lastly, since Duale favors sharia law,and that cannot happen in Kenya in the foreseeable future,I suggest he seeks citizen ship in one of those rich oil states that apply sharia law,instead of telling muslim women to look for another country.What makes aKenya is not their religion,tribe,or what they wear.

Notice when they attend different functions they are unable to shift gears in order to address the audience in front of them accordingly. Some will deny it,but the main reason that Muslim women are "forced" to cover themselves has alot to do with sexual desires of their Muslim men. You tell me what modesty is that when you cannot even see the face? Even Muslim themselves cannot agree on what modest dressing is.Some even argue that wearing niqab,or hijab is not even in their holy book.
Let's us here from Muslim women. Are they going to tell Duale that,"It's my body.Its my dress", without risking their heads chopped off?. Good thing, America will be ready to welcome you with both hands should you "denounce Islam" as oppressive,and impinging on your human rights...sort of.

That’s how it starts my friends, with a stupid pronouncements like this one, but when it’s uttered by a defense minister we should all be worried and take it with outmost seriousness, Iran in the 1050s women did not cover up, now they are being killed for partly not covering their hair. We should and must protect our secularism from islamists. I personally consider this middle eastern cults evil, they born in evilness and still keep spreading their evilness around the world. They were conceived by ignorant barbarous society where misogyny, slavery and other evils abounded. We need a secular society that guarantees the rights of everyone including Muslim women, that accords the same rights to a church, mosque and a disco.

@ Ndugu Imara Daima, some Muslims would feel like chopping off my head for appearing to denigrate the prophet but if you read what he did,no way would you classify him as a model for appropriate moral conduct.
What is interesting is that Muslims say that the Koran allows that no one should be forced in to Islam,and yet it says" fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the last day,and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and his messenger have made unlawful". To circumvent uncomfortable response muslim apologists would say that the interpretation is not literal,and that you need scholars to understand the meaning. Christians do not believe in Allah.
I wonder what Duale would say about this?

Does this new CS knows his job? Defense Cabinet Secretary telling girls to wear hijab? That is not his duty. This Shifta needs to know Kenya is not his. Everybody in Kenya has the right to dress up as they wish as long as it is not indecent.
