Detectives have intensified investigations into the gruesome murder of Nairobi businesswoman Miriam Wangari.
Wangari, 57, went missing on December 29th last year after visiting a construction site in Kiambu’s Zambezi area.
Parts of her dismembered body were discovered two days later in Tigoni area, some 30 kilometers from where she was last seen. Only her limbs have been found and a search for the remaining body parts is still ongoing.
Police believe the business lady was murdered for money after establishing that ten separate withdrawals were made from her phone following her death.
Kabete Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief Patrick Gikunda told The Standard that more than Sh100,000 was withdrawn from different money agents in Nairobi CBD and Kiambu.
Investigators are also looking into business rivalry as a motive for the killing after James Mbugua, a driver for Wangari's family, obtained money from her registered phone.
"The investigations are now at the advanced stage. We are conducting forensic analysis on the mobile phone for more clues," Gikunda told The Standard.
Mbugua was arraigned in a Kibera court where police were allowed to detain him for 21 days pending further investigations.

Wahh Kenya is a dangerous place, so many deaths.
Terrible. He needs to speak out on what he did. Taking a life for 100,000?
It is important to commend and highlight those who do good like the cab driver returning someones valuables intact especially when you read these kinds of stories where people are betrayed by their drivers or people who they trusted like families or employees. In other words, if we are going to highlight the bad let us also highlight the good to keep it balanced. Thanks Mwakilishi!
People can really change, the guy named was the best I knew years ago. Why why why take someone's life for whatever reasons.my heart bleeds for that lady's family and friends, may she rest in eternal peace.
