German Man Suspected of Killing His Kenyan Girlfriend Found Dead in Mombasa

A 58-year-old German national suspected to have murdered his Kenyan girlfriend in Mtwapa, Kilifi County has been found dead.

Krabbe Dietter Gunther was found dead in Mombasa on Saturday, according to Kilifi County Police Commander Nelson Taliti.

The foreigner has been on the run since Thursday when the lifeless body of his girlfriend Cynthia Anyango Otieno, 24, was found in their apartment. 

The body of Ms. Anyango was found covered with a bedsheet and stashed under a bed in their house in Mdomodoni Kwa Chief area, Mtwapa.

It is alleged that Gunther and Anyango were involved in a fight on the night of Wednesday before he was seen leaving the house carrying two bags at 5 pm on Thursday.

Neighbors got suspicious and upon peeping through the apartment’s window, they saw Anyango’s body and called the police.

Kilifi South Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Wako said Anyango was oozing blood from the nose and had injuries at the back of the neck and head.

An alien German card bearing Gunther’s name and other details was found in the house.

Initial investigations revealed that Anyango worked at a local entertainment joint and had lived with Gunther in the apartment since December 2020.
