Kenyan Hotel Waiter Whipped by Chinese Manager in Viral Video Sues Matiang'i

A Kenyan man who was whipped by a Chinese restaurant manager in Nairobi early this year has sued Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

The Chinese man, Deng Hailan, was captured on tape canning Simon Oseko, a waiter, with a video of the incident going viral on social media in February.

A day later, Hailan was arrested alongside three other Chinese nationals working at the eatery on allegations of assault and causing actual bodily harm. Hailan was also found without a valid work permit while the other three held expired visas.

A Nairobi court allowed police to hold them for 15 days pending completion of investigations into the incident but CS Matiang’i signed orders for their deportation.

In a case filed at a Nairobi court, Oseko argues that the respondents violated the law by failing to subject his tormentor to the Kenyan justice system.

He has cited CS Matiang’i, the Chinese government, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, and Attorney-General Paul Kihara as respondents in the case.

He says that he was subjected to torture and indecent treatment and that Hailan sexually harassed him.

Oseko also sued the hotel for failing to give him an employment contract, noting that he was hired orally and was dismissed without his Sh12,000 monthly salary.

This stupid man. How can you let someone beat you up like a silly kid. That BS should have ended with him. He should have fought back, not sit there like a little pup and take punishment. What a moron.

Insist that the Chinese who whipped you are brought back to Kenya and face the Kenyan justice system.Matiangi was not with you when you signed the employment contract or pulling the strings when the Chinese man was caning you. This is one case where violence was justified. You should have gone home regrouped even it is with stick and stones gather a fellow of ruffians and taught this Chinese man a lesson he would not forget or just send him to hell and dispose of his body .It is too late now.Clam mental anguish maybe some Kenyan judge will have mercy on you and give you some peanuts to quiet you down
