Residents of the upscale Jacaranda Gardens estate in Nairobi have been told to self-isolate after Covid-19 cases were confirmed there.

In a notice, the management of the estate located along Kamiti Road asked residents to undertake 14-day self-isolation with their children.

The notice indicated that the positive cases were confirmed by the Ministry of Health’s Roysambu Sub-County Covid-19 response team.

"The management in collaboration with MoH Roysambu sub-county Covid-19 response team wishes to inform residents that we have confirmed Covid-19 patients in the estate.”

"Following this development, we are advised to request residents to isolate themselves with their children for fourteen days to avoid more contact," the notice dated July 15th reads.

“We are in communication with the MOH and shall inform you in case of any new development. Be advised to use sanitizers or wash hands with soap and running water, wear masks always and observe social distancing.”

As of Thursday, there were 11,673 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kenya from 230,096 samples, 3,638 recoveries and 217 deaths.
