Kenya’s Covid-19 Caseload Tops 10,000, Deaths Hit 185

Kenya’s total Covid-19 caseload has surpassed the 10,000-mark after 379 people tested positive for the virus on Sunday.

There are now 10,105 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country from cumulative tests of 215,037 samples, the Health Ministry said.

376 of the new cases are Kenyans while three are foreign nationals aged between two and 97 years. 253 are male and 126 are female.

The cases are distributed around the country as follows; Nairobi (209), Kiambu (49), Busia (38), Migori (19), Mombasa (16), Kajiado (12), Uasin Gishu (8), Lamu (6), Machakos, Nakuru (5) while Garissa, Isiolo, Kericho, Nyamira, Nyeri and Trans-Nzoia recorded one case each.

The Ministry of Health also noted that one more patient succumbed to the infection, bringing the total number of fatalities so far to 185.

At the same time, 49 people were discharged from various treatment centers across the country, taking the total recoveries to 2,881.
