A video of police officers grabbing and squeezing a man’s genitals during an arrest has sparked uproar among Kenyans on social media.
The eight-second clip that has since gone viral online shows three policemen trying to bundle the man, reported to be a hawker, into a police van after arresting him for allegedly failing to wear a facemask.
The man wearing an orange t-shirt and black pair of trousers appears to resist the officers' attempt to force him into the police vehicle.
One of the officers then forcefully grabs and squeezes his private parts as the man writhes in pain.
The incident is said to have happened in Nakuru town, according to Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi, who shared the clip on Twitter.
Havi called on Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, the National Police Service and the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) to take action against the police officers.
"This unfortunate incidence occurred in Nakuru at the entrance of the National Library Services. The three policemen are from Central Police Station. I will conceal the identity of the victim who has been identified. @NPSOfficial_KE, @FredMatiangi, and @IPOA_KE please, take action," Havi wrote.
