Uhuru-Raila Handshake: Taskforce to Handover BBI Report on Tuesday

President Kenyatta is scheduled to receive the much-anticipated Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report on Tuesday, November 26th.
This was announced during a media briefing on Friday by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, who is the Chairperson of the BBI taskforce
Senator Haji said the report will capture all the views the BBI team collected from Kenyans across the country.
He indicated that the taskforce collected views from over 400 elected leaders and more than 7,000 members of the public in all the 47 counties.
Senator Haji also dismissed a report that has been circulating on social media, saying the contents of the taskforce’s report have not been leaked to anyone.
“These misrepresentations are designed to sow confusion and division among Kenyans at a time when there is a strong national consensus on the need for cohesion, honesty and the ambition to change our country for the better,” Haji said.
The BBI taskforce was formed in the aftermath of the March 9th, 2018 handshake between Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The team was tasked to collect the views of Kenyans on nine key issues affecting the country among them ethnicism, lack of national ethos, inclusivity, devolution, divisive elections, security, corruption, shared prosperity and responsibilities and rights.
Members of the 14-man team included Adams Oloo, Agnes Kavindu, Senator Amos Wako, Florence Omose, Saeed Mwanguni, James Matundura.
Others were Major John Seii, Bishop Lawi Imathiu, Maison Leshomo, Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji, Morompi ole Ronkai Prof., Bishop Peter Njenga, Rose Moseu and Archbishop Zecheus Okot.
