Kibra MP Ken Okoth Admitted to Nairobi Hospital’s ICU

Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth is reportedly admitted at Nairobi Hospital.

Okoth was reportedly rushed to hospital on Thursday night and was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to The Star.

This comes two weeks after he returned to the country after an extended medical trip abroad.

Okoth, who is battling colorectal cancer, jetted back to the country at the beginning of this month after spending more than five months receiving treatment in Europe.

In March, Okoth noted that chemotherapy drugs were brutal on his skin and immune system.

"Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. Chemo drugs are brutal on the skin and immunity system,” he said in a social media post.

In an interview early this year, Okoth said the cancer was discovered at a very advanced stage and cannot be cured, just managed.

“I was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer with metastases to the liver,” he said.

“I will be using chemotherapy tablets every morning. Because my disease was discovered at a very advanced stage, it cannot be cured. It can only be managed,” Okoth added.

On July 7th, the 41-year-old MP attended Kibra Music Festivals at Moi Girls School, Nairobi.
