Kenyan Man Arrested for Sending Threatening Messages to Woman Rep. Beatrice Nkatha

Police have arrested a man suspected to have sent threatening and abusive messages to a Member of Parliament.
Joel Lawrence Nyamao is accused of sending the messages to Tharaka-Nithi Woman Representative Beatrice Nkatha.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspect was apprehended on Friday after being tracked down by detectives.
Several items among them mobile phones, photocopies of ID cards and several sims cards were recovered from Munyao during his arrest.
The DCI also said he was found with lists containing the names of MPs and Senators, and their phone contacts.
“Nineteen Safaricom SIM cards, 18 Airtel SIM cards, Telkom SIM card, 20 Safaricom Card Holders, three lists bearing handwritten mobile numbers and names of MPs and Senators were confiscated," said the DCI.
The suspect is set to be arraigned in court on Monday.
Two weeks ago, a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sending threatening messages to six MPs.
Alex Anyolo, a University of Nairobi Masters student, was arrested after Njoro MP Charity Kathambi filed a report with the police.
Anyolo is said to have sent the messages to six Members of Parliament with the aim of extorting them. Police said the suspect had already received cash from one of the MPs.
Officers recovered several SIM cards, mobile phones and identification cards from the suspect.
