Flying Squad Officers Arrest Alleged Quack Doctor Mugo wa Wairimu

Flying Squad officers have arrested suspected quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu, born James Mugo Ndichu.

Mugo was arrested in Gachie area, Kiambu County on Tuesday night and was taken to Pangani Police Station where he will spend the night.

“He is in custody. He will be taken to court tomorrow,” Flying Squad boss Musa Yego says as quoted by Capital FM News.

Police have been looking for Mugo for the last two weeks after he was accused of operating another illegal clinic in Nairobi's Kayole estate. Police say he has been evading arrest by swapping SIM cards.

Last week, NTV investigative reporter Dennis Okari exposed how Mugo has been carrying illegal activities at his new clinic including offering abortion services, sedating female patients and sexually assaulting them as well as injecting himself with drugs.

Two college students alleged to be Mugo's employees were last week arraigned in a Nairobi Court and charged with several counts of operating illegally.

The two, Victor Gathiru Kamunya, 22, and Risper Auma Ogony, 19, remain in police custody pending conclusion of investigations.

Mugo had been arrested in 2015 after a video of him allegedly raping a sedated patient at his clinic in Githurai went viral on social media.

He was charged with several offences including obtaining money under false pretense and employing unregistered lab technologists. He was later released on a Sh2 million bond with a surety of similar amount.
