Trump Official Agrees with President Kenyatta's View on Gay Rights

A White House official has appeared to back President Kenyatta's stand on gay rights in Kenya and Africa.

Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney hinted at plans by Trump administration to scrap a policy by his predecessor Barack Obama for promoting gay rights in Africa.

“Our US taxpayer dollars are used to discourage Christian values in other democratic countries,” Mulvaney said in reference to the Obama administration use of financial leverage to discourage discrimination against homosexuals in Africa.

The official was speaking during a religious freedom conference in Washington, where he described the policy by Obama as a form of “religious persecution.”

“It was stunning to me that my government under a previous administration would go to folks in sub-Saharan Africa and say, ‘We know that you have a law against abortion, but if you enforce that law, you’re not going to get any of our money. We know you have a law against gay marriage, but if you enforce that law, we’re not going to give you any money.’”

“That is a different type of religious persecution that I never expected to see,” Mulvaney added. “I never expected to see that as an American Christian.”

“There are a lot of people in this government who just want to see things done differently,” the White House budget chief said.

In a recent interview with CNN in London, President Kenyatta defended Kenya's strict laws on homosexuality, terming gay rights as a non-issue in Kenya. He has been criticized by the west for his sentiments on the LGBT rights.

I agree with this Trump-pos, but not for similar reasons. First, gay people were and have always been in Africa. What I reject is how the West came around and criminalized a natural occurence, then after noticing it affects their own, now want to force their "newly found" fairness on the rest of the world. That is some BS.

Obama was wrong in using financial leverage to push an LGBT agenda.
