Missing Baringo MCA Found Killed, Dumped under Ol Donyo Sabuk Bridge, Athi River

The body of missing Churo Amaya ward Member of County Assembly in Baringo, Thomas Minito has been found dead and dumped at Ol Donyo Sabuk Bridge, Athi River.

The body of the slain legislator was discovered under the bridge by a motor bike boda boda operator passing by the bridge.

Police who confirmed that the body had head injuries suspected that the politician was killed elsewhere and then dumped at the scene.

The family of the MCA who has been missing for five days disappeared from his home on Monday this week.

"We liaised with our Kangundo team who confirmed that the body was his after searching for his documents. He had URP cards in his pocket that helped the police identify his body," a policeman at Kangundo police station told the Standard.

The MCA was out on a Sh2 million bond after he was charged in court at Nyahururu with charges of assault.

Minito is alleged to have had a role in the burning of a lodge belonging to Laikipia Nature and Conservancy ranch owned by rancher Kukki Galmann.

Gallman was shot and injured by bandits as she patrolled her ranch after illegal herders invaded it.

His elder brother had accused the government of having a hand in the disappearance of his brother demanding the police to produce him.

"We believe the Government has a hand in this and we demand to know the whereabouts of our two brothers. This is not normal for them not to appear in public or have their phones switched off," said the elder Minito.

"We have sought questions from the police all in vain. We are very traumatized right now," he said.
