17,124 Kenyan Passports Ready for Collection From October 31

The national passport delivery will extend into the third week beginning October 31 with 17,124 passports available for collection.
The government's Rapid Results Initiative has entered its sixth week and the Ministry of Interior has reported that immigration regional offices will distribute passports between October 31 and November 3, 2023. Ready for collection at Nyayo House are 7,500 passports in Nairobi, with 1,543, 1,752, and 1,501 passports available for pick-up in Embu, Eldoret, and Kisii. Also, there will be 1,002 in Nakuru and 1,500 passports in Mombasa for the taking.
In Kisumu, the department has prepared 2,326 passports for collection next week. You must take notice, however, that any documents that remain unclaimed past the designated collection timeframe will be disposed of, and as per the law, the owners will receive penalties. Interior Secretary Kithure Kindiki is doubling down on anti-corruption measures in the Immigration Department after facing criticisms from the public over delayed travel document approvals.
Summoned to Parliament in response to the public outcry, Kindiki confronted head-on the problem of deep-seated corruption within the Immigration Department and vowed not to stop until the criminal cartels responsible are dismantled. At first, there existed a zone where a total of 87,454 passports remained unclaimed at the central and regional offices of the Directorate of Immigration. Consequently, Kindiki initiated a 30-day Rapid Results Initiative on September 25, 2023, intending to eliminate this backlog.
