KTN TV presenter Finali Gelaiya and Robert Budi have been crowned as Miss and Mr World Kenya 2018 respectively.
The two were announced during an exquisite gala event held at The Mall rooftop in Nairobi's Westlands area over the weekend.
Gelaiya takes the crown from Miss Kenya 2017 who is also the reigning Miss Africa, Magline Jeruto while Budi succeeds Kevin Owiti.
Ms Gelaiya presents KTN’s Life and Style breakfast show and was Miss India Worldwide Kenya 2016. Budi is a fitness model and trainer.
The two beat 20 other contestants who had been shortlisted from the auditions held at Two Rivers Mall back in May.
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, Miss World Kenya 2003 Janet Mulei, Miss Earth Kenya Suzy Kirui, Miss Kenyatta University 2015 Faith Donald and Miss World Kenya Kisii County Cindy Kemunto were some of popular personalities who graced the event.
The newly-crowned Miss World Kenya will leave the country on November 8th in preparations for the Miss World Finals to be held in Sanya, China on December 8th.
On the other hand, Budi will represent Kenya at Mr World Finals in Manila, Philippines on January 27th, 2019.
Reigning Miss World Kenya and Miss World Africa holder, Magline Jeruto emerged in the top four most beautiful women on earth in last year’s competition, also held in Sanya, China.
