Next Week, the Kenyan Embassy in Washington, DC will be hosting a reception in commemoration of the historic promulgation of the new constitution by H.E President Mwai Kibaki C.G.H., M.P.

We would like to bring to your attention the plight of one of our visiting mothers, and to passionately and humbly appeal to you to financially stand in the gap in the spirit of collectivism (harambee); the building block of our identity as Kenyans.

For over 10 years the Tom Munyama Foundation has been providing basketball scholarships to Kenyans to come to the United States. Since the late Tom Munyama started the fund, it has assisted over 300 Kenyans with scholarships!

The International Festival, scheduled for August 7 & 8, 2010, promotes opportunities for people of all ethnicities and backgrounds living in the Baltimore region to come together, build relationships, and embrace unity.  There will be live soccer tournaments featuring team representing different countries. Come cheer for the Kenyan team, Jamhuri FC, play against Nigeria, Jamaica, Greece and Korea

Festival-goers can also savor delicious cuisines, experience cultural performances, and connect with valuable services and resources. 

Dr Paul Mukundi invites you to celebrate with him as he launces his book "Preventing Things from Falling further Apart: The Preservation of Cultural Identities in Postcolonial African, Indian, and Carribean Literatures" on Saturday, July 31st at 4pm at 9206 Oswald Rd, Rosedale, MD 21237.

The 3rd annual Talanta Awards are set to take place on Saturday 17th, July 2010 at the Lighthouse Convention Center located at 326 Tryon Road, Raleigh, NC.   New this year is inclusion of gospel artists from other African countries.   So far there is lots of buzz among artist from Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia, Congo, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Uganda who have nominees in various categories including Best Artist and Best Male and Female artist.

Also added is Most Talented under 10 year old, where one can vote for the best kid.
