Sixteen-year-old Sanni M'Mairura of Houston, Texas, whose father is a native of Kenya and the mother a native of Tanzania, is taking part in this season's American Idol contest on FOX TV.
Sanni's audition aired at tonight's episode, performing “Who’s Loving You” by Michael Jackson. His audition impressed all the judges, qualifying him to take part in the main contest which will be taking place in Hollywood, California.
Sonni has been performing with a youth group called The Noise in Houston.
