International Speakers in Nairobi to Discuss Rapidly Growing African e-Health Platform

The 2012 e-Health Africa Conference - Integrating m-Health into e-Health Strategy Implementation.co-hosted by Anadach Group, the Kenya Government and TeleHealth Society of Kenya will take place on April 18-19 at Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

The conference, which will bring in speakers from around the world, will identify best practices from public and private health sectors in several countries. 150-200 people from more than 12 countries will be expected to attend the conference.

Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong’o, Minister of Medical Services, Kenya will deliver the opening speech at the conference on 18th April. The two-day program will connect leaders from across key sectors of government, industry, academia and the private sector to advance discussion.

The topics will range from Global Perspective on e-Health/m-Health Issues to m-Health Applications across Several Countries to Health Information Systems.

Noteworthy sessions include e-Health policy environment in African Countries with presentations from senior government officials from Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Togo and moderated by Ambassador Joseph Huggins (Advisory Board Member, Anadach Group). Other speakers include Dr Khama Rogo (IFC), Dr Feng Zhao (African Development Bank), Dr Esther Ogara (Ministry of Medical Services Kenya), and Prof Wole Sobeyejo (African University of Science and Technology).

Ambassador E. Odembo, Kenya Ambassador to the United States is expected to deliver keynote address on 19th April, as part of the two-day conference in Nairobi.

The 2012 e-Health Africa Conference is co-sponsored by IFC/World Bank Group AfDB, ICME/Macgellan, FVC/Polycom and JSI.

An “Innovative eHealth Solutions for Africa Award” sponsored by the African Development Bank will also be announced.
