Joyce Kerubo Nderi, a Kenyan entrepreneur based in Texas who manufactures beauty products, has entered the Get on the Shelf Content, a contest by the giant retailer Walmart that allows anyone in the United States to submit a video online pitching his or her invention. The products will be voted on by the public and three winners will have their products sold on Walmart.com, with the grand prize winner also getting shelf space in select stores.
Joyce's company, called Joyce's Natural Blends, manufactures a line of hair care, lips care, and skin care products. More information on their prodcuts can be found on their website.
You can vote for Joyce here.
Online voting takes place from March 7th to and April 3rd, with the winners of the competition being announced at the end of April.
“Walmart has the best products at everyday low prices, but we know there are some great undiscovered products that have not yet reached our shelves,” Venky Harinarayan, senior vice president of Walmart Global e-commerce, said in a press release. “For a long time, the ability to get a product into a retail store was at the sole discretion of the store buyer. Today, we are removing these barriers by giving anyone a chance to launch their product at Walmart and reach millions of shoppers nationwide.”
Thank you sooo much for sharing my story with the world. May God shower you with blessings!!
Congratulations Joyce for the good work that you are doing. That is great, and keep doing what you love doing. Are your products available for small businesses to sell? Just a question, I may have some interest on your products.
Thanks George! I am currently making really small batches that go very quickly:-) Hopefully soon I will upscale with Walmart's help then I can supply some to small businesses and Kenyan market. God will find a way where there is no way:-)
Thanks for all the support. Najivunia Kuwa Mkenya-American!
