Presidential aspirant Raphael Tuju on Sunday launched the Party of Action (POA) which he would use to vie for the top seat in the forthcoming general elections.

At the launch at KICC, Tuju pledged that his party which has a youth centered political agenda was determined to adopt best practices from around the world and ensure that skills’ training for the youth was government financed.

“We want to take action not just the same old same stories,” Tuju said.

POA symbol is a cellphone which Tuju said showed the party embraced modern technology and industry.

“We welcome every Kenyan to this party where active participation of the youth is guaranteed,” he said.

The Presidential aspirant told of his party’s vision through real life stories of Kenyans who are undergoing various challenges to succeed in life.

He shared the story of Aden Isaac Mohammed from Mandera County who studied economics in Morocco through sponsorships, returned to the country last year but was yet to secure a job.

“Today however, he has become a bit disillusioned because he has realised that many politicians have no intention of doing what they promise. They talk about change before they take office but as soon as they are in government they start by dishing out positions to their own kin first,” he noted.

He piled heaps of promises to Kenyans like an end to tribalism, create job opportunities, involve the youth and make the country an industrialised nation.

“The ongoing ICC trial is part of the mix of issues that have traumatised and is polarising the country. I want to appeal to all Kenyans that we must not allow this process to divide us even further,” the Presidential aspirant said.

Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta who attended the launch said the country needed visionary leaders who can work together to come up with programs to deal with challenges facing the nation instead of engaging in mudslinging.

“I do believe that I am standing today at the launch of a party led by an individual who will be a critical part of that future that we all desire for Kenya,” Kenyatta who is also a Presidential aspirant said.

Politicians William Ruto, Eugene Wamalwa, Mike Sonko and Chirau Ali Mwakwere were also present at the launch.
