Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Two charitable organisations formed by Kenyans living in the US have donated food and drugs to integrated IDPs at Gacege village in Gatundu North, Kiambu county. Austin Friends of Kenya and One Stop Agape from Austin, Texas US, called for more assistance to help IDPs not only in the camps but also those integrated in various villages and plantations where they work as labourers.

Speaking at Gacege KAG Church when distributing the donation, a founder member of Austin Friends of Kenya, Njenga Njoroge, said all IDPs should be resettled ahead of the general elections. Njoroge said Kenyans in the diaspora are praying hard for peace to prevail in the country during and after the elections. The organisations have visited IDPs at Nakuru showground, Mawingu and Kibarage slums to assist them.
