The Late Mrs Jennie Sainah

Dallas, TX - A Kenyan woman has passed away in Dallas, TX after a long illness bravely borne. Mrs Jennie Sainah passed away on Wednesday May 12, 2010.

Jennie was the wife to Joseph Sainah of Denton, TX, mother to Jeffrey, Jessie, and Jerry. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Felicitas Korir of Ngechek village in Nandi, Kenya. She was the sister-in-law/sister to Sam and Julie Bore of Grand Prairie, TX. Her other siblings are Jossie Jacky, John, Janet, and Paul.

Jennie Sainah hailed from Eldoret, Kenya. She settled in Denton, Texas, USA, in 1992.

Mrs Sainah experienced the initial signs of illness that would eventually claim her life in September 2005. By February 2006, she had lost functions of her upper limbs; her legs and lower arms were also weakening.

After a number of medical examinations, she was diagnosed with POEMS Syndrome and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), two very rare neuromuscular diseases, in May 2006. Her condition deteriorated fast. By November 2006, she was bedridden and in need of a bipap machine to enable her inhale sufficient oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide.

By August 2007, her diaphragm muscles had degenerated to the point that she received a tracheotomy that facilitated the use of a ventilator for breathing. Since then, she was in and out of hospitals due to the fact that her immune system had weakened resulting in recurring bouts of pneumonia and several bacterial and viral infections.

On April 15, 2010 at 5:00pm, Jennie suffered a massive cardiac arrest that resulted in extensive damage to most of her brain. She eventually succumbed to the illnesses on Wednesday May 12 at 4:30pm.

With numerous hospitalizations and extensive treatment spanning four and half years, Jennie’s medical bills stand at over $50, 000.  A fundraiser to offset the medical bills will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00PM at Upendo Baptist Church in Garland, Texas – 916 N. Jupiter Road 75042.

Donations can be deposited directly to the Jennie Sainah Foundation account at the Bank of America – Account # 488025619496, Routing # 111000025.

Donations can also be made through PayPal. The PayPal ID email is talaigaa@msn.com Your donation will be greatly appreciated by the family.

May the Almighty God rest Jennie’s soul in peace.
