National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Moses Wetang’ula says that August 8th election was Raila Odinga's last shot at the presidency.
The Bungoma senator noted that Odinga, who unsuccessfully contested for President in 1997, 2007,2013 and 2017 has now passed the mantle other principals — Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and himself.
The Ford Kenya party leader further called for the unity of the Luhya community, saying that only so they stand any chance of having one of their son succeed President Kenyatta in the 2022 general elections.
“Luhyas were once confused about who to support but that was solved when ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and I came together under Nasa and decided to work as a team,” he said.
Speaking in Tongaren constituency during the homecoming of Mitua Soysambu Ward Member of the County Assembly Stephen Wafula, Wetang'ula pledged to work with Mudavadi to deliver the Presidency to Western Kenya.
“I have told Musalia that we should work together. But as my younger brother, he should allow me as the elder one to lead first,’’ he said.
He added: “Those who have been confusing and auctioning Luhyas politically should be told that their time is up. As your son, I will not let you down. I will ensure the dream is fulfilled,” he added.
