NASA running mate Kalonzo Musyoka at a past event
National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has urged his supporters to reject Ukambani MPs who ditched his Wiper Democratic Party for Jubilee.
The former Vice President said that the MPs betrayed Wiper, the party that sponsored them to the National Assembly and went to bed with the Kamba community oppressor, Jubilee.
Kalonzo said that it was morally wrong for a leader to ascend to power and later contravene ideologies of the political outfit that enabled him to go to the legislative assembly.
Speaking during a campaign tour at Nzambani and Kanyangi markets in Kitui County, Kalonzo branded the MPs who defected from Wiper to president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party as sellouts who should be rejected on the ballot.
The NASA leader lauded Members of Parliament for Kitui Rural Charles Nyamai, Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) and Mutua Muluvi (Kitui East) for rejecting attempts by the ruling Jubilee party to woo them to ditch the opposition. He urged residents to vote for them, terming them the true sons of Ukambani.
“We expect our senators, governors, MPs and MCAs to respect the party leadership and be at the forefront in championing their ideologies and manifesto once elected,” Kalonzo said.
Joe Mutambu of Mwingi Central, Kisoi Munyao of Mbooni, Munuve Mati of Mwingi North and Regina Ndambuki are some of Ukambani Members of Parliament who joined Jubilee from the opposition.
