Even before news of Mombasa County Governor Ali Joho being barred from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s New Standard Gauge Railway launching in Mombasa last this week settles, Joho has once more reignited his rivalry with President Uhuru Kenyatta, lashing at him out for blocking him from state functions.
The controversial governor was barred from attending the historic function, just months after police similarly blocked him from the re-launch of the Mtongwe ferry operations by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa.
The Mombasa county boss has now warned Uhuru that he cannot intimidate him to shut adding that he will continue exposing Jubilee’s evils to Kenyans.
“I could not wait to come to Kakamega. This time round we are not joking. They are used to blocking me from attending key functions in Mombasa. Unfortunately, Uhuru forgot that he can’t shut my mouth. In Mombasa, we do not shy away from calling a thief by his name. I want to tell you, William Ruto, the NASA trap is yours and we will net you,”he said.
Speaking at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega county on Saturday during the official launch of the opposition campaign, Joho said that Jubilee inflated the cost of SGR railway, asking voters to kick Jubilee out of office in the upcoming elections.
“I am not opposed to the development project that is SGR. However, my concern is its inflated cost. We would have saved Ksh100 billion had the project been initiated by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka had they formed government in 2013,” said Joho.
The Mombasa county boss further accused Uhuru of “turning a blind eye on the fight against corruption.
“These guys’ plan is to continue impoverishing Kenyans so that the citizens remain dependent on them –eternally. This time round, we will vote for Raila Odinga. I assure Kenyan Coast inhabitants that the management of the Port of Mombasa will be given back to them".
“In Mombasa, there is a parcel of land, which arap Mashamba (Ruto) had targeted. He went there to put up a wall. The following day, I brought it down. They are using local leaders to carry out oppression of the Coast people.”
“Kakamega people, I urge you to vote for Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on August 8 so that we can stop Uhuru and (DP) Ruto from looting our country,” he added.
