Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Sunday reignited the rivalry between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during a rally at Jacaranda grounds organized by National Super Alliance (NASA) after the clearance of Raila Odinga and his running mate to contest for the presidency in the August 8 polls by the IEBC, the controversial governor said he will be seeking to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Joho said he will be seeking to meet the duo during the launch of the newly built standard gauge railway on May 31st to take them to task over rampant corruption. “Nataka niombe nafasi niende niwaulize pesa za wananchi zile wameiba watarudisha lini,
“Tutalinda kura..tutalala kituoni, tutakesha kituoni, tutaoga kituoni na tutakula kituoni,” noted Joho.
(I seek your permission to meet Jubilee during the launch of the SGR to beseech them to return stolen funds; we shall protect our votes by all means).
Speaking during the rally, NASA presidential contestant Raila Odinga hit out at the Jubilee Administration, accusing them of swindling public funds by importing maize from Mexico.
“Hio unga iko kwa Ruto na State House kwa Uhuru Kenyatta...ndani ya siku tisaini gharama ya maisha itashuka chini. Bei ya bidhaa muhimu; maziwa, sukari, mahindi na kodi ya nyumba itarudi chini,” reiterated Odinga.
(The maize is with Ruto and at State House, in our first ninety days, the cost of living will go down and the cost of basic items will be affordable).
President Kenyatta is expected to officially launch the multi-billion SGR project on May 31st.
