Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has hinted at contesting for the country’s highest office in the 2022 general elections.
The former ODM secretary general expressed disappointment in the manner in which the Luhya community was being led adding that leaders should champion for the community’s interests first.
The Labour Party leader asked Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang'ula to push hard on their quest to be NASA flag-bearer in August 8 polls. Namwamba said that time was ripe for the Western Kenya based community to front a formidable presidential candidate owing to the huge number of registered voters in the region.
Namwamba said that he was preparing to contest for the presidency in 2022 polls adding that he was ready to take the mantle of leadership in the country.
The lawmaker will be defending his seat in the august 8 polls through an LPK (Labor Party of Kenya) ticket.
