Opposition Coalition NASA Set to Make Major Announcement on Flagbearer

The National Super Alliance (NASA) is set to make a major announcement after a meeting of the five principals.

According to the Alliance's National Coordinating Committee (NCC), the principals will hold a meeting on Thursday at the Bomas of Kenya after which they will announce the flag bearer.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who is also a member of the Committee, revealed that the Opposition already had a presidential candidate who would soon be named.

Muthama who was flanked by among others, his Siaya counterpart James Orengo divulged that the principals would have an announcement to make regarding the NASA presidential torch-bearer.

“We have a flag bearer and very soon we will name him. Tomorrow we will have a lot to tell Kenyans. We meet tomorrow at Bomas… Kenyans will get to know where we are heading,” he stated.

On his part, Orengo denied claims that a retreat by the principals had failed, maintaining that tomorrow's meeting would be very “significant”.

Orengo further affirmed that the forum would consist of five principals - ODM leader Raila Odinga , Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto (CCM).

"The NASA principals have been four and now we will have five. We just wait what will come out of tomorrow's meeting and it is a significant meeting," he asserted.

The so called NASA principals are the most dangerous politicians Kenya has had since the era of KADU in 1960's. They want to divide Kenya into four Zones that each will have a direct control of. They also plan to create new political positions such as that of Chief Minister, Prime Minister and a Chancellor in addition to the presidential post. Rumors has it that Raila has agreed to let Kalanzo be the Flagbearer during election on condition that if they win he be given the Chancellorship post which will be the most powerful position in Kenya,
